Thank You for Engaging in the C7 Global Consultation!

On March 4th, Cooperation Canada hosted the C7 Global Consultation, an event that brought together civil society representatives to discuss the progress and impact of the C7 within the broader G7 process, focusing on refining the C7 Communiqué to ensure it reflects the collective priorities of global civil society.

We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in this pivotal online event last week. Your insights, dedication and thoughtful contributions are helping to shape impactful recommendations for the 2025 C7 Communiqué. With over 130 participants, the consultation was a testament to the power of civil society and an important step in having recommendations that truly reflect global civil society’s priorities in advocating for a more just, fair and sustainable world.

During the meeting, we focused on refining key recommendations on the four thematic areas and advancing strategic advocacy in breakout discussions. Much of the working group feedback underscored the importance of clear and focused messaging and strong engagement strategies to ensure our collective voice resonates with G7 leaders. We continued receiving feedback in the following days through an online platform, which the coordinators are diligently integrating into the text.

Leading up to the C7 Summit on April 14-15, at which time we will be presenting the Communiqué to the Canadian G7 Sherpa, the working groups will meet for a second time to finalize the chapters of the Communiqué. The C7 Secretariat and Steering Committee will then work together to finalize the C7 Communiqué and craft the overarching narrative.

The G7 Foreign Ministers are convening this week in Charlevoix, Québec, and the C7 eagerly anticipates the outcomes of their discussions and the policy commitments they will put forward.

Thank you once again for your commitment!
