GCAP Italy-CESVI

Valeria Emmi is currently serving as C7 Sherpa in her capacity as Co-Spokesperson of GCAP Italy – Global Call to Action Against Poverty coalition of Italian civil society organisations which is coordinating the Italian C7 Presidency.

She is the Senior Specialist for Networking and Advocacy at CESVI (GCAP Italy member), responsible for CESVI’s global advocacy in its humanitarian and development action at international, European and national levels.

Valeria has a sound experience in designing and managing advocacy strategy development, policy dialogue with decision-makers and leveraging donors’ support on humanitarian aid and human rights-based sustainable development, gender equality, social and environmental justice. Economist with extensive experience in research coordination, she has also authored various publications for an effective and evidence-based advocacy.

She represents CESVI in several coalition committees and is also co-chairing the Advocacy and Communications Group of Alliance2015, a strategic partnership of 7 European humanitarian and development NGOs. In 2021, during the Italian G20 Presidency, she was appointed C20 Sous-Sherpa.
